EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY: Exam Prep Program

A force for change, transforming the lives of sixth-graders:

  • Significantly increases the success rate of rural sixth-graders in the National Exam (e.g., from 30% to 98%)

  • Elevates the future of Burkina Faso through education

  • Ensures continued education of the students by defying the odds

What do we do?

Teêbo has developed an equitable six-month national exam preparation program for disadvantaged rural sixth-graders. The Exam Prep Program helps the students pass the National Exam and continue their educational journey.

How do we do it?

  • Partner with under-performing schools in under-served communities

  • Engage with students, teachers, families, and villagers to identify barriers to success

  • Provide scholarships, tutoring, meals, school supplies, classroom resources, solar panels for night studies, and renovate schools

Why do we do it?

In Burkina Faso, passing a critical sixth-grade national exam is the gateway to seventh grade, but many students, especially in rural villages, face failure and dropout. The nation's educational ranking was last globally, with four out of five people unable to read and the average Burkinabé receiving just six years of education.

We represent hope by providing educational opportunities. We believe in empowering the next generation through education, igniting their potential, and shaping a brighter future marked by equity and equality.

RURAL ENTREPRENEURSHP: AquaAgro Initiative

Creates sustainable prosperity for impoverished rural women:

  • Nurtures commercial gardening endeavors through training, resources, and access to markets

  • Builds communities and generates year-round sustainable income

  • Provides laboratory-tested, clean drinkable water

What do we do?

Teêbo teams up with local villagers and enlists the expertise of local mentors to train groups of impoverished working women and provide clean water. They are equipped with the skills needed for efficient and sustainable commercial gardening.

How do we do it?

  • Raise $35K through fundraisers and partnerships; every donation goes directly into the program.

  • Build the "Growing Hope Center," which involves digging a solar-powered well, setting up water storage systems, and constructing sanitation facilities.

  • Appoint trusted local ambassadors to monitor and evaluate the program for sustainable growth.

  • Receive a $2 monthly contribution from the women’s profits to maintain equipment and facilities.

Why do we do it?

In Burkina Faso, challenges are significant, with ~3 months of rainfall and poor soil quality. Approximately 90% of the population relies on subsistence agriculture or livestock raising, and women and infants suffer the most from recurrent famines.

AquaAgro is a lifeline for these communities, fostering ongoing economic development, granting women financial independence, ensuring safe drinking water access, and providing a source of nutritious vegetables. AquaAgro is a beacon of hope, resilience, and prosperity for communities in a land marked by adversity.

*Our priority farmers: Since nearly the entire population engages in farming, we will focus on widows, the poorest of the poor, and families with small children. Please consider a one-time or recurring donation donation of $35, $40, or $150 per month

RURAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP: End Starving Season

Farmers in the program achieve remarkable results:

  • Collect 2-7X their typical crop yield (subject to rainfall)

  • Generate 8-10 months of food for a family of five

  • Work on 2.5 acres in just 2 days instead of 28 days

  • Dig deeper furrows with the plows for crop’s stability

What do we do?

Teêbo provides essential tools, fertilizer, and education to hardworking farmers. We also monitor key crop health metrics and offer valuable guidance on best practices in cultivation, seed storage, and animal husbandry.

 How do we do it?

With your support, we're breaking the chains of hunger and poverty that plague many villages during the Starving Season. We consistently raise funds to procure the following:

  • Plows at ~$40

  • Bags of fertilizer for ~ $35

  • Oxen at ~$360

Why do we do it?

In Burkina Faso, ~90% of the population relies on subsistence agriculture and livestock raising. However, 2X/year, many villagers endure the agony of the Starving Season, marked by inadequate rainfall, subpar seed storage, and a lack of fertilizer. Farmers and their families struggle to survive during these times.

#EndStarvingSeason seeks to break this cycle of suffering and offer a brighter future for all. The ripple effect of increased crop yields is astounding. It paves the way for an enhanced quality of life, keeping families together and children in schools and generating surplus crops for income. In turn, it strengthens and revitalizes the communities.

Mission Work: Ministry Events

Touching lives and igniting transformative programs:

  • Share the Gospel and make disciples who become messengers of hope

  • Conduct holistic events: Evangelism outreach, Kids Thursday Club, and Conferences

What do we do?

Teêbo team fervently shares the Gospel through evangelical events, conferences, and retreats. We aim to spread God's love, truth, and light throughout Burkina Faso.

How do we do it?

  • Create local and global partnerships to share the Gospel in Burkina Faso

  • Select regions of unreached groups or places where the spread of the Gospel has been limited

  • Organize large-scale open-air and days of multi-evangelical events with impactful preaching, educational videos, Christian literature distribution, and home visits

  • Foster follow-up discussions to ensure the integration of new converts

Why do we do it?

In a predominantly Muslim nation like Burkina Faso, 64% are Muslim, 20% Catholic, 9% Protestant, and 6% Animist. Additionally, the country is home to 29 unreached groups over 79. We are driven by the Great Commission, inspired by the command to "go and make disciples of all nations" (Matt 28:19-20). We seek to illuminate lives, offer hope, and provide spiritual guidance, reaching out to those in need.
